Abstract
Eight species of insectivores (80 % of the total number of insectivore species in the Czech Republic) and 17 rodent species (74 % of the total number of Czech rodents) have been recorded in the extended territory of the Pálava BR. Concrete faunistic and ecological data of all species are included and the occurrence of rare species is discussed. Morever, changes in the pupulation size of some species are evaluated.
