Abstract

V. J. Brjusov patří k zakadatelům modernistického hnutí v Rusku. Ačkoli je tento autor ve světě známý spíše jako básník a prozaik, jeho tvorba zahrnuje také několik dramatických pokusů, doplněný úvahami o divadle a rozsáhlou kritickou prací. Přes značnou obsáhlost manifestů, doprovázejících první vlnu symbolistního hnutí, je až s podivem, že téměř žádné z těchto bezpochyby zajímavých divadelních teorií autora nebyla doposud věnována větší pozornost, a to i přes nespornou hodnotu textů, které můžeme v tomto smyslu považovat nejen za soudobou výpověď, reflektující prvotní praktické experimenty novodobých ruských inscenátorů, ale především za umělecky jasně definovanou esteticko-filozofickou představu nového divadla, zformulovanou do podoby poeticky vyvážzených proklamací, reprezentujících hlavní myšlenky pozdějších představitelů staršího proudu moderny. V textu jsou citovány úryvky z dokumentů, které bezesporu tvoří jednolitý celek, popisující symbolistní koncepci dramatu a scény, zastoupenou v Brjusovově díle články Nepotřebná pravda (1902), Hledání nové scény (1906), Divadlo budoucnosti (1907), Realismus a konvence scény (1908), a doplněnou ještě v posledním roce autorova života vydanou statí Co je divadlo (1924), shrnující hlavní požadavky autora.

Abstract (in English)

V. J. Bryusov is counted among the founders of the modernist movement in Russia. Although tnihs autor is worldwide known rather as a poet and novelist, his work covers also several dramatic attempts supplemented by reflections of theatre and by an extensive critique. Relative to the considerable extensiveness of the maifests connected with the first wavw of symbolist movement, it is surprising that attention has not been so much paid almost to none of these unquestionably interesting authorś theatrical theories so far, despite the uncontested value of the textes, which we chan consider, to this effect, not only a contemporary statement reflecting the primary practical experiments of modern Russian stage-managers, but first and foremost an artistically clearly defined aesthetic-philosophic idea of a new theatre formulated in poetically balancen proclamations, which present the main ideas of following representatives of the older strean of the modernism. In the text there are quorted passages from the documents, which indisputably create a homogeous unit. There is described the symbolist concepcion of the drama and theatre represented in Bryusovś vowrk by the articles Unneeded Truth (1902), Looking for the New Theatre (1906), The Theatre of Future (1907), Realism and Conventions of the Theatre (1908) supplemented in the last year of the authors life by a published article WHat is Theatre? (1924) summarising th authors main raquirements.
