Abstract
The aim of study was to use polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for genus and species identification of different Bifidobacterium strains. Specific amplification of DNA of the genus Bifidobacterium was achieved with primers PbiF1 and PbiR2 (Roy and Sirois 2000). PCR was used for the identification of 23 different Bifidobacterium strains isolated in the Czech Republic including some production strains.
