Hlavní trendy francouzské filosofie koncem XX. století:odklon od marxismu a existencialismu, od velkých koncepcí, postmoderní příklon ke každodennosti, rehabilitace politického liberalismu. Exemplifikováno na odklonu od Sartra a příklonu k Aronovi pokud jde o tzv. velké filosofickohistorické koncepce dějin, současně však s pozitivním zhodnocením role angažovaného intelektuála v Sartrově tradici.
