Abstract
The paper deals with the results of the first phase of the project "Teachers and Innovation. On present practice and some possibilities of development of teachers` work". The theoretical framework of the research is the concept of reflective practice and other contemporary ideas of innovation of the schoolwork. The questionnaire was used for the first phase of the research as an instrument for screening. The data gained by mean of questionnaire (administered to the sample of innovative teachers in the Czech Republic) should enable basic understanding of the most important teachers` motives for implementation of innovations. Finally, exploration of conditions of successful implementation of innovations (as viewed by innovative teachers) is provided.
