V originále
The system of financial markets and financial service is undergoing a period of change. New financial instruments and financial services are expanding rapidly in both volume and variety. Financial markets that have traditionally been predominantly local in character are expanding to become regional, national and even international in scope. Asset securitizations and other new instruments and services are only the vanguard of a wave financial innovation. A trend toward deregulation of the financial sector has unleashed the forces of competition and innovation. Banks and financial companies, securities dealers, funds and institutions are locked in an intense struggle for the customers business.
