Abstract
A preconcentration system based on Donnan dialysis with a capillary cation exchange Nafion membrane was developed. The (hydrated) divalent metal ions were preconcentrated from sample (donor) solution to acceptor solution prior to determination by flame AAS. Under optimal conditions of dialysis the enrichment factor (EF) of 106 with RSD of 2% for Cu(II) was reached. The EFs for Cd(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) were found to be similar to that for Cu(II).
