Publikace je antologií povídkové tvorby v překladu studentů FF MU. Projekt zahrnoval výběr 32 autorů a povídek tak, aby pokrývaly USA i Kanadu, autory i autorky, představitele různých kmenů, různé tematické zaměření; na rozdíl od předchozích podobných výborů se zaměřuje na popis současného života indiánů, nikoliv na tradiční slovesnost. Součástí publikace je úvod k indiánské kultuře a literatuře, poznámka k povaze a problémům týmové práce na překladu a medailonky všech autorů.

The book is an anthology of short stories translated into Czech by students of the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University, Brno. It includes a selection of 32 authors and short stories covering both the U.S. and Canada, male as well as female authors, different tribes and topics. Unlike other Czech anthologies, the selection concetrates on descriptions of current life of Native Americans rather than their traditional narratives. The book includes an introduction on Native American culture and literature, a note on the problems of the team work on the translations, and brief biographies of the authors.
