Abstract
Neuromodulation procedures provide a non-destructive and reversible approach to the treatment of severe chronic pain. Neuromodulation approaches use electrical stimulation of or analgesic drug infusion to the nervous system, usually the spinal cord. Before implantation, accurate diagnosis of the underlying pain aetiology and type of pain has to be made.
