Abstract
Interferences of surplus exogenous bromide in iodine metabolism in the rat, especially under conditions of a mild and severe iodine deficiency, were studied. An increase in the relative weight of the thyroids and a significant decrease in the uptake of radioiodide by the thyroids were the most characteristic features found in the rats drinking water with the highest content of bromide.
