Parts three and four locate the role of education within the context of It locates the role of education within the context of the European philosophical tradition. It provides the link between critical sensibilities, the project of Western civilization, and the role of public discourse. Finally, it argues that educational policy needs to go beyond the mere technical fit between graduates and the labour market and seek to be inspired by new ideas and new ways of seeing.
