Abstract

Česká rodina prochází v posledním desetiletí dvojitou transformací: musí se vyrovnat s politickými a ekonomickými změnami, jimiž prochází celá společnost, a zároveň in everyday life vrůstá do západoevropského systému hodnot a způsobu života, jež jsou výrazně antinatalitní. U mateřství prudce stoupla oportunity cost a fertilita zejména mladých žen se dramaticky snížila. Sňatečnost klesá ve všech věkových kategoriích a zejména v nižších sociálních vrstvách roste podíl dětí, narozených mimo manželství. Na postojové rovině má ovšem klasická párová rodina jako vlastní životní projekt téměř všeobecnou podporu. Teprve následující desetiletí ukáže, nakolik se budou trendy praktického úpadku hodnoty dítěte dále prohlubovat. Výsledky našeho šetření spíše naznačují limity jejich extrapolace.

Abstract (in English)

The political changes in 1989 brought about a change in life and reproductive strategies. With the return of market economy and the restitution of private property, the Czech family quickly resumed to the western family model. Nevertheless, it is not clear whether groups exhibiting the same formal demographic parameters are also identical in their value orientations, thus they in fact represent a different cognitive process and responses to different variables. This all understandably calls up the question on which basis does the current desire and willingness for Czech women to have children rest and in which form has modern society transformed the traditional institutional basis of this desire and willingness, notably family and intergenerational solidarity in society (having many children must be covered economically, socially, culturally, and individually in a safer way than by one man, whose life-long loyalty is, moreover, uncertain).
