Autor studie píše o Hrabákově populární koncepci románu v jeho učebnici Čtení o románu (1976). Ukazuje, jak Hrabák sleduje genezi žánru, jak menší pozornost věnuje experimentální vývojové fázi žánru,ale jak si současně všímá spojení románové poetiky s masovou kulturou.

The author of the study deals with Hrabák's popular conception of the novel in his textbook Reading about the Novel (1976). He demonstrates how Hrabák studies the geneis of the genre, though he pays less attention to the experimental stage of its evolution, but also how he manifested the link between the novel poetics and mass culture.
