Abstract
Bundles of cortical microtubules of vegetative cells were completely disintegrated at the site of leser beam interference. In intact cysts, cortical microtubules were not detected Exposure of protective cysts to a laser beam resulted in surface perforation and subsequent leakage of cytoplasmic content, often including an undamaged macronucleus.
