Abstract

V originále

Multicomponent Ni-based alloys have been under intense development during last decades, as they represent a class of technically important materials for high temperature applications. The coexistence of a disordered matrix gamma and cuboidal domains of its ordered modification gamma' is a key feature controlling the mechanical properties of Ni-based superalloys. To design materials with long-term microstructural stability at elevated temperatures a good knowledge of equilibrium phase diagrams is of high importance. In recent years, the quaternary system Ni-Al-Cr-W has been systematically investigated and new experimental phase data have been obtained. The comparison of new experimental data with theoretical calculations and with other phase data obtained previously shows that thermodynamic re-evaluation of lower order subsystem Ni-Al-W is necessary.
