Autorky sledovaly tělesnou zdatnost a některé antropologické charakteristiky brněnských osmiletých dětí(v letech 1999-2000)studie ELSPAC. Pevnější korelaci BMI jsme zjistili u chlapců a matek, než u dívek a matek.Vyšší hodnoty systolického tlaku byly zaznamenány u 4 % dětí a diastolického tlaku u 5,4 %. Rozdíl mezi pohlavím nebyl zachycen. Děti s diastolickou hypertenzí měly slabší tělesnou zdatnost. Socioekonomická úroveň rodiny neovlivňovala velikost BMI dítěte ani jeho tělesnou zdatnost. Velikost BMI rodičů souvisí s úrovní jejich vzdělání. Vzdělanější muži a ženy mají štíhlejší postavu. Starší matky mají vyšší BMI než mladší,totéž platí u otců.Ženy bez partnera mají vyšší BMI. Je-li žena spokojená s finanční situací rodiny, je její BMI nižší. Hubení a obézní muži mají průměrně nejnižší měsíční příjem. |

Lower physical fitness was showed in individuals with higher levels of BMI. The number of obese children in Brno reaches 2.3 % and number of slender children 8.4 %. The BMI levels do not differ according to the sex of the children. Stronger correlation of BMI was found between boys and mothers, than that between girls and mothers.
