Abstract
The aim of the book is to characterize the Karpatian in the Central Paratehys basins sensu the original definition from the point of view of the contemporary state of research and to give a more synthetic view on the stage in which very important geotectonic activities took place in the entire Alpine-Carpathian-Pannonian region.
