Abstract

V originále

Forty-nine taxa have been recorded from the Karpatian. Five species make a group, which is restricted to the Karpatian only. In the Carpathian Foredeep and the Molasse of Lower Austria, a diverse mesopelagic fauna appears and points to a water depth up to upper bathyal. The fish fauna in the Vienna Basin indicate a deep neriticum, in the Korneuburg Basin a sublittoral/litoral environment.
