Přehledový článek o vývoji reflexní a tonické autonomní regulaci srdeční frekvence. Zatímco tepová frekvence s věkem klesá, citlivost baroreflexu je na věku nezávislá. Liší si individuálně, ale signifikantně klesá nejen u hypertoniků, ale i u hypertenze bílého pláště. Pokles citlivosti baroreflexu je spojen se zvýšenou variabilitou krevního tlaku.

Review article on development of tonic and reflex autonomous control of heart rate in healthy and hypertensive adolescents. Whereas heart rate decreases with age, baroreflex sensitivity is age independent. It differs interindividually, but it significantly decreases not only in hypertensive, but also in those with white coat hypertension. The decrease of baroreflex sensitivity is linked with an increase in blood pressure variability.
