Abstract
Study describes ecology of the cyanobacterial mats of maritime Antarctica seapages from the area of King George Island. Main part of data was taken at the vicinity of Arctowski station and Fildes peninsula. Cyanobacterial species has its specificity to particular parts of the biotope. The distribution of communities is developed as in the horizontal as in vertical direction. Main factors influencing the distribution of species is water availability and light intensity.
