V originále
Hippocampal volume of 50 men was assessed during the first episode of schizophrenia and correletad with clinical features of the acute psychosis (PANSS) and the response to the risperidone treatment. There were no differences in the hippocampal volume between responders and non-responders, nor there were significant relations with PANSS scores. there were also significant positive correlation of the right hippocampal volume with the illness duration (r=0,45; p=0,0058). There were significant negative correlations among the left hippocampal volume and PANSS scores at admission. There was negative correlation among illness duration and PANSS general both in risperidon (r= -0,34; p=0,04) and whole group (r= -0,32; p=0,03).
