Posláním publikace je využít poznatky z matematiky, statistiky a příbuzných oborů na konkrétních matematicko-statistických modelech. Stěžejní část publikace tvoří rozvíjení poznatků týkajících se kvantitativního popisu veřejného sektoru. Významnou část tvoří především regresní a korelační analýza a metody analýzy časových řad. Dále jsou rozvinuty poznatky o ukazatelích, indexech a možnostech srovnávání. Poznatky jsou ilustrovány na příkladech řešených v~prostředí tabulkového procesoru.
In English
The mission of the text is to apply knowledge of mathematics, statistics and related sciences to concrete mathematical-statistical models. The first part of the text deals with the basic models of regression analysis and time series analysis. The second, key part of the text, develops the knowledge concerning a quantitative description of public sector. Knowledge of indicators, indices and possibilities of comparison are developed here. The knowledge is also practised in the spreadsheet environment.
