Galantamin added to olanzapin in a patient with persistent cognitive dysfunction improved memory functions measured by WMS IIIR. Subtest "Faces" from WMS III was used as activation paradigm in fMRI. At baseline, there were almost no activation, after 4 weeks of galantamine treatment significant activity appeared in the prefrontal cortex.
