The text brings basic information on the spread of traditional Tibetan Buddhism outside the Tibetan territory (Sikkim, Nepal, Bhutan, Ladak, Mongolia, Buryatia, Kalmykia, Tuva). The conclusion of the outline of the modern history of Tibetan Buddhism in Buryatia (19th and 20th centuries) as well as the phenomenon of Tibetan Buddhism in the Russia. |

Hlavní část textu je věnována nástinu dějin buddhismu v Burjatsku, Kalmycku a Tuvě. Buddhismus vždy představoval v pravoslavném Rusku, zejména v Petrohradě a Moskvě, menšinové náboženství a vztah těchto dvou náboženských systémů v jednom impériu prodělával mnohdy dramatický vývoj. Ve zmíněných asijských regionech však buddhismus zaujímal pozici náboženství většinového a v Burjatsku i "státního", tj. od poloviny 18. century ruskou státní mocí oficiálně tolerovaného. |
