The author of the article analyses situation and long-term tendencies at the labour market in the Czech Republic since its birth, he is more detailed in the period after 1995, when there was a rapid increase in unemployment. He assesses influence of entry conditions of particular regions of the Czech Republic (production and branch orientation, qualification and education of labour force, rural and urban environment, etc.) on the creation of regional disparities.
