Abstract
Mokrá-quarry is one of the most important Miocene paleoherpetological site in the area of Czech Republic. There has been found a relatively abundant reptile fauna there: Testudinidae (Testudinidae ge. et sp. indet. 1 & 2, Varanidae (Varanus sp.), Anguidae (cf. Ophisaurus sp.), Viperidae (Vipera sp. 'Oriental vipers' closely related to the complex 'xanthina' or 'lebetina') and Colubridae (Colubrinae gen. et sp. indet. very similar with the small representatives of the genus Coluber). Mokrá-quarry site is probably of the Late Miocene age which is documented by the numerous viperid vertebrae belonging to the 'Oriental vipers' group.
Abstract (in Czech)
Mokrá-lom je jednou z nejdůležitějších miocenních paleoherpetologických lokalit v České republice. Nalezena zde byla poměrně hojná fauna: Testudinidae, (Testudinidae ge. et sp. indet. 1 a 2, Varanidae (Varanus sp.), Anguidae (cf. Ophisaurus sp.), Viperidae (Vipera sp. 'orientální zmije' blízké komplexu 'xanthina' nebo 'lebetina') a Colubridae (Colubrinae gen. et sp. indet. podobné malým zástupcům rodu Coluber). Mokrá-lom je pravděpodobně lokalitou svrchnomiocenního stáří, což je dokumentováno četnými nálezy zmijích obratlů náležejících skupině 'orientálních zmijí'.
