Abstract
The aim of these papers is to describe the system of the regional policy in the Czech Republic with the focus on the implementation of the structural funds. Based on the analysis of the pre-structural program Sapard some expectations concerning the utilization of the finances from the structural funds have been formulated. The main attention within these papers is paid on the negative aspects; such as high formal demands and inefficient implementation process, time lag, uncertainty connected with the admission of the projects or distortion of the free market competition.
