The contribution pursues the reasons and motives of the continuing interest of the public in the period of the occupation of the Czech Lands (1939-1945), it indicates the changes in attitudes of the Czech historiography to this issue and notices the importance of the new research of the persecutions of the people and various forms supporting nazism or collaboration.
