Abstract

Text stručně mapuje francouzskou kolektivní paměť v otázce jejího válečného chování a postojů, snaží se popsat hlavní fáze francouzského vyrovnávání se s nepříznivými fakty od konce druhé světové války až po dnešní dobu. Kolektivní paměť zatížená historickými zkušenostmi prochází skrze jejich totální negaci až po přehnaný zájem a sebeobviňování. Text ukazuje, že až dostatečný časový odstup umožnil ve Francii věcnou debatu na dané téma.

Abstract (in English)

This article deals with the impact of the Second World War on the French society. This is not the historical study of the Vichy regime, this article concerns the study of the history of French collective memory of the Vichy experience. It focuses on contemporary debate about the war memories on the dark and divisive years from 1940 to 1944. It describes the attemps to forget the collaborants history during the post war period and later the will of the French society to challenge the war experience of one generation of the French people. In the first part of the article author explains different phases of French collective memories with concrete demonstration to the courts with collaborants, the second one focuses on denial of holocaust with the concrete analysis of the role of the French National Front in the contemporary society.
