Abstract
Je tezké si v soucasném mediálním prostoru nepovsimnout houfu ponekud rozpacitych postav, které uz i v cestine oznacujeme jako singles. Americké televizni serialy s pevnou pozici na ceskych obrazovkach (Sex ve meste, Pratele, Mc Bealova)prezentuji zivot singles humorne. Ceskemu publiku se zapletky mohou zdat ponekud teenegerovske, ale i zertovna podoba medialni reprezentace poukazuje na zavazne zmeny soucasné spolecnosti. Jak vypadá život současných českých singles? Text popisuje charakteristické znaky a dilemata v životě singles v aktualnim českem kontextu.
Abstract (in English)
It is almost inconceivable not to notice in the current media a big crowd of somehow puzzled characters who are even in Czech described as singles. The American TV-serials firmly imbedded on the Czech TV screens (Sex and the City, Friends, Ally Mc Beal) present life of singles in humorous manner. To the Czech audience, the plots in these shows may seem little too much teenage-like, still even this comical representation in media draws attention to the ongoing change within present society. What is life of Czech singles like? The text describes characteristic features and dilemmas in life of singles in contemporary Czech social context.
