Abstract
Looking at Cronenberg's films Videodrome, Naked Lunch, eXistenZ and Spider the author highlights uncertainty as the key element various Croneneberg's works share. The essay attempts an answer to the question why Cronenberg has become a cult figure for many academics in the field of cultural studies.
