Abstract

Text mapuje destrukci filmu jako postupné a soustavné ničení materiálu filmových pohyblivých obrazů. Využívá přitom především kontextu současného filmového archivnictví. V první části shrnuje některé vlastnosti filmové suroviny a věnuje se možným typům jejího poškození. Navazuje periodizací destrukcí, nejprve jak ji naznačil Raymond Borde, a později v rozšíření a prohloubení Paolo Cherchi Usaie. Dalším tématem jsou reflexe destrukce, jejichž možnou rozdílnost autorka představuje na textech dvou autorů, Paolo Cherchi Usaie a Dominiqua Painiho. Poslední tři krátké oddíly tvoří příklady možných dopadů destrukce, v textu reprezentované tématy lakuny, sirotčích filmů a řízené destrukce.

Abstract (in English)

The text maps out the destruction of motion pictures as the gradual and systematic damage of film material. In so doing it primarily uses the context of contemporary film archiving. In the first part it summarises certain qualities of raw film material and describes possible types of damage. It ties in with the periodisation of destruction, first as suggested by Raymond Borde, and later as expanded and analysed by Paolo Cherchi Usai. Another theme is the reflection of destruction, whose possible distinctions the writer presents in the texts by two authors, Paolo Cherchi Usai and Dominique Paini. The last three short sections comprise examples of the possible effects of destruction, in the text presented by the themes of lacuna, orphan films and controled destruction.
