Článek se zabývá popisem koncepce švédské nadace The Natural Step, která pomáhá organizacím nastoupit cestu k trvale udržitelnému rozvoji. V současné době byla koncepce aplikována v prostředí nadnárodních společností jako IKEA, Interface, Electrolux, Scandic Hotels, McDonalds a dalších. V první části příspěvku je nadace TNS stručně představena. V druhé části se detailněji zabývám její koncepcí udržitelnosti. Abychom mohli dobře porozumět koncepci, je třeba se seznámit se základními vědeckými fakty vztahujícími se k myšlence trvale udržitelného rozvoje. Na těchto faktech je stavěno i při dalším popisu koncepce systémových podmínek, trychtýřové teorie a také při praktické aplikaci koncepce.

The article deals with a description of a unique way towards sustainability which was developed by a Swedish foundation The Natural Step. Present applications of the conception are made in cooperation with renowned business partners - such as IKEA, Interface, Electrolux, Scandic Hotels, McDonalds and others. In the first part of the article The Natural Step is briefly introduced. In the second part, a sustainability framework is characterized in detail. In order to better understand the conception, the basic scietific facts related to the functions of ecosystem are stated. System thinking is also a crucial part of the framework and is therefore applied in other parts of the conception when defining the system conditons, presenting the funnel theory or looking at specific applications of the framework.
