Abstract

V originále

Measurements of the ECS diffusion parameters in the brain have shown that a decreases and l increases during global cerebral ischemia, but there is a lack of information about the ECS parameters during hypoxia-ischemia and in the post-ischemic period after unilateral carotid occlusion. The observed post-ischemic increase in a and decrease in l suggest that extrasynaptic communication between neurons and glia is altered during the post-ischemic period. Moreover, the concentrations of neuroactive substances, metabolites and applied drugs may be altered and could play an important role in the recovery process from stroke.
