Abstract
Pronouns are generally divided into two classes: deictic pronouns and anaphoric pronouns, both of which exist in Czech. In my paper I discuss some specific properties of the Czech anaphors. I show that anaphoric pronouns can not have antecedents across some class of modal operators. I discuss the phenomena in detail and at the end propose a solution referring to the framework of dynamic semantics. Following the proposals made by Groenendijk and Stokhof (1991) I argue that the solution can be best explained by a distinction between internal and external dynamic operators.
