Abstract

Na příkladu občanství ukazuje Castles s Davidsonem, jak éra globalizované modernity dokáže starým problémům dodat novou podobu. Začlenění Druhého není pro národní stát pouze záležitostí univerzalistické morálky, nýbrž nevyhnutelnou potřebou. Otázka však již nezní jak, ale do čeho inkludovat. Jeffrey Alexander soudí, že u každé společnosti je možné nalézt určitou jádrovou skupinu, pomocí níž lze usuzovat na míru úspěšnosti integrace. Castles s Davidsonem se však domnívají, že takovýto model inkluze již v podmínkách současného světa nemůže obstát. Univerzalistická poptávka po inkluzi musí být oddělena od partikularistického pojetí sociální i kulturní příslušnosti.

Abstract (in English)

On the example of citizenship Castles and Davidson shows us, how era of the globalized modernity brings new forms of the old problems. Integration of the Other is for the weakening nation state not only the question of universalistic moral, but the pure necessity. But if it wants to be inclusive the task is not how, but into what to include. Jeffrey Alexander suggests, that in every society we can find some kind of core group, crucial for succesfull integration of outgroup members. In some respects is this conception really inspiring, but Castles and Davidson claim, that this singular citizenship model is not viable now. Universalistic demand of inclusion must be separated from the particularistic notion of belonging, both cultural and social.
