V originále
The anthropological investigation of dental caries at followed burials ground has been up to now the subject of papers of several authors. The comparison of populations having lived probably in different living conditions but in the same locality has been performed. The mean values according to the time period of I-CE in Czech Republic (Slovak Republic) were 19.9 (21.7) for Great Moravian (Slav-Avar) period, 24.3 (25.3) for medieval sample and 49.4 (54.3) in modern time sample. Mean F-CE values were 75.6 (73.6) in Great Moravian period (Slav-Avar), 80.6 (76.4) in the Middle Ages and 88.0 (93.0) in the samples of the modern times settlement. As it has been proved by previous studies, dental caries status could reflect many constitutional, genetic, nutritional and oral hygiene factors. Complex interactions of all these factors resulted in the different caries frequency dependent on sex, age and environment factors as well.
