Zpráva prezentuje koncept vkové diskriminace ageismu v kontextu eské spolenosti. Pedkládá krátký úvod do teorie vkové diskriminace, zamýšlí se nad problémy její definice a nad otázkami zdroj a typologií nerovností. Empirická část zprávy prezentuje výsledky reprezentativního šetení v populaci eské republiky. V rámci šetení byly sledovány subjektivní soudy o výskytu vkové diskriminace v eské spolenosti a osobní zkušenosti respondent s nkterými jejími formami. Výzkum se zamil na zmapování situace v tch oblastech sociálního života, které se zdají být z hlediska vkové diskriminace nejcitlivjší: oblast obanských práv, oblast zamstnání a pracovního trhu, oblast dchodového systému a konen oblast zdravotní a sociální pée. Empirická data šetení Ageismus 2003 jsou doplnna o sekundární analýzu nkolika starších datových sobor a o analýzu dokument, novinových zpráv, legislativních dokument a politik. Zpráva obsahuje doporuení, návrhy intervencí ke zmírnní projev ageismu v naší populaci a k prevenci jejich dalšího rozvoje.

The report deals with the concept of age discrimination ageism in the Czech Republic. It includes a short introduction to the theory of age discrimination as well as a discussion of problems with its definition and issues relating to sources and typologies of inequalities. The empirical part of the report outlines the results of a representative survey of the population of the Czech Republic. The survey concentrated on subjective perceptions of the incidence of age discrimination in the Czech society and respondents personal experience with some of its forms. The research was aimed at mapping the situation in those areas of social life that appear to be most sensitive in respect of age discrimination: civil rights, employment and the labour market, the pension system and finally health and social care. The empirical data of the Ageism 2003 survey are supplemented with the secondary analysis of some older data and the analysis of documents, news items, legislative documents and policies. The report includes recommendations and suggestions relating to interventions that would help decrease the incidence of ageism in our population and prevent its further spread.
