We introduce our automated 2D/3D/4D/FRET high-resolution image data acquisition and analysis system developed to visualize and quantify fluorescence signals in fixed and living cells. For our studies, we utilize the fluorescent proteins and various low-toxicity cell permeable fluorescent probes that make it possible to conduct the non-invasive quantitative visualization in living cells. In our experiments, cells are stably or transiently transfected or cotransfected by lipofection with DNA plasmids coding fusion proteins of mitochondrial apoptogenic proteins (cytochrom c, AIF, amid, and endonuclease g) with one of fluorescence proteins (EGFP, EYFP, or t-HcRed).
