The 19th conference INFORMATICS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION, ENVIROINFO 2005 organised by the Masaryk University in Brno with the cooperation of the Unit "ICT for the Environment" of the Directorate-General Information Society&Media of the European Commission, the European Environment Agency and the Technical Committee (TC) 4.6.1 Computer Science in Environmental Protection of the German Computer Society has the leitmotif NETWORKING ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION. It continues the successful series of conferences dedicated to information exchange among scientists, public administrations, private and public companies involved in environmental information processing as well as environmental informatics end-users.
