Depending on the cadmium concentration and the time of exposure, microtubules disintegrated into short rod-shaped fragments or they completely disappeared. Actin filaments were more stable than microtubules When cadmium ions were washed out, actin cytoskeleton was rebuilt even in cells where actin filaments were completely disintegrated under higher cadmium concentrations. MTs were regenerated only after lower cadmium concentrations. ER -
