Příspěvek nabízí prezentaci výsledků z vlastního kvalitativního výzkumu lesbických rodin, který přináší základní vhled do problematiky v českém kulturním kontextu. Autorka shrnuje dosavadní zjištění získaná z rozhovorů s lesbickými páry vychovávající společně dítě (děti), na základě kterých ilustruje specifické aspekty g/l rodičovství v následujících oblastech - motivační činitelé vedoucí k rozhodnutí založit rodinu, přechod k mateřství, copingové strategie, rozdělení a reprodukce genderových rolí. |
Abstract (in English) |

The institution of family was regarded as the quintessence of stability in an otherwise continuously advancing rate of modern progress. Social science theories today must reflect the uncertainty and social fabrication of this institution. A coherent perspective on family is no longer sustainable either in social science theory or in everyday reality (Možný, 2002). However, some limits remain clearly defined. Their contours are apparently marked by the imperative of mandatory heterosexuality, which “naturally” matches manhood to womanhood; this match is then presented as the ideal form of child-rearing. Families comprising of two people of the same sex seem to oppose this ideal. Nevertheless, the example of such families undoubtedly reflects a series of changes which have been shaping families, mainly throughout the last decades. The main aim of the research project was to explore the phenomenon of Czech gay and lesbian families (e.g., variety of forms, motivation factors, parenting styles, gender roles etc.) and provide a deeper insight into the topic in the national context. The presentation will be focused on arguments, generally shared premises and myths which both support and deny the institution of family. Special attention will be paid to a position of the alternative model of gay and lesbian families related to family discourse. The paper is based on a critical analysis of actual concepts of gay and lesbian families but primarily on own, currently running qualitative research project based on interviews with 10 Czech lesbian couples rearing child/children within their same-sex couple relationship. |
