Thirty-four isolates were the causative agents of toxic epidermolysis in neonates. On the basis of the above results the conclusion can be made that while the strains with genotype G2 were most prevalent in the Czech patients, S. aureus strains of different genotypes were also found and cannot be excluded as the causative agents of epidermolytic outbreaks in this country.
