Abstract

V originále

The population of the Czech Republic at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries has been the oldest one in its history up to now. We may state this fact about the population of other European countries as well. Nevertheless, in the Czech Republic the perspective of a further aging of the population is more evident than in most of the other countries. Numerous group of those, born in the mid-70s, may represent the most extensive age group of the population of first three decades of the 21st century. Around 2015 the forty-year-old will be the most numerous group, in 2030 the fifty-five-year-old and still in 2040 the sixty-five-year-old will represent an especially strong component of the population. Despite this ascertainment the attention devoted to this age group is inappropriate. The fact of the matter is that on contrary to the past the care of seniors improved and we may notice a progressive interest in this field. However, nor is the current situation satisfying. The material backup is superior to questions of subjective evaluation of quality of life and complex positive feelings about the contemporary life of seniors. Therefore, we shall introduce psychomotor activities that make for the maintenance and development of motor and social abilities and skills of seniors. Above all, such activities have a positive impact on the psyche of any individual. Besides the development of some of the psychical functions, we see the considerable significance of psychomotor activities in the experiencing, inducing positive feelings and joy of movement and play.
