The gymnastic performance depends to the muscle functional abilities and the somatic type and composition. Top gymnasts need good anaerobic capacity, strength and a lower body mass. The aim of study was to find out the trends of the parameters of gymnast-girls of Czech national team since 2001 to 2005. We completed 71 measurements of the girls. The main indicator of the anaerobic capacity was a gymnasts total work on bicycle ergometer KETTLER Ergorace (a modified anaerobic test by Placheta and Dražil with continual load to exhaustion 4 W/kg in girls and 5W/kg in boys). The somatic composition was calculated by Matiegka, and somatotype by Heath-Carter . We present the average values of the parameters. Girls at 2001-2002-2003-2004-2005: Age 14,3-15,8-17,3-17,3-17,6 yrs; Work time 38,3-42,1-79,1-104,7-110 s; Total work 152-168-317-419-440 J/kg; Maximal right handgrip strength 4,53-4,32-4,50-4,50-4,10 N/kg; Height 151-155-160-159-161 cm; Body mass index 18,8-19,6-20,6-20,6-21,1 kg/m2; %; Endomorphy 1,5-1,8-2,1-1,7-1,98; Mesomorphy 4,9-4,6-4,4-4,5-4,8; Ectomorphy 3,2-3,1-2,8-2,7-2,7.; Skeleton 17,0-16,4-15,2-15,0-15,2 %; Muscles 51,9-52,4-50,9-52,9-51,8 %; Fat 11,3-12,3-13,2-11,3-12,7. The anaerobic capacity, endomorphy and fat of the girls is higher in the last years, probably in dependence to the age and sport training. We provided average values facilitating the individual functional evaluation of gymnasts. Next we will test the relations between gymnastic performance and the functional parameters.
