Tento článek se zabývá analýzou teorie konvergence Johna Kennetha Galbraitha v souvislosti s jeho ekonomickými východisky a postoji, jakož i analýzou a komparací dalších vybraných teorií vývoje. Jednotlivé teorie vývoje, jakož i teorie konvergenci systémů popírající, jsou vzájemně komparovány z hlediska způsobu přechodu mezi jednotlivými ekonomickými systémy, z hlediska podoby „nového“ ekonomického řádu, jakož i z hlediska slučitelnosti „nového“ ekonomického řádu s demokracií a svobodou.

This article is concerned with John Kenneth Galbraiths convergence theory in respect of his economic assumptions and attitudes, as well as an analysis of and a comparison with some other evolvement theories. Particular evolvement theories, as well as those opposing the convergence theory, are mutually compared in respect of the way of transferring from one system to another, shape of „new“ economic order, as well as the compatibility of this „new“ economic order with democracy and liberty.
