Abstract

Příspěvek se soustředí na vztah ekonomické svobody a konkurenční schopnosti ve smyslu možnosti dosahování ekonomického růstu. V první části je provedena deskripce počátečního institucionálního stavu, v jakém se ekonomika nacházela po pádu komunistického režimu. Hlavní část analyzuje vývoj institucionálního prostředí a státních zásahů v ČR během období 1990–2005. Klasifikace ekonomické svobody a zároveň struktura tohoto příspěvku je provedena podle Fraserova Institutu a jeho indexu Ekonomická svoboda světa. Věnujeme se rovněž druhému indexu od Heritage Foundations. Příspěvek si však všímá spíše kvalitativních aspektů ekonomické svobody než indexů samotných.

Abstract (in English)

This paper focuses on economic freedom and its relation to competitiveness in the sense of possibilities of economic growth. It starts with description of the initial state of institution in economy after the collapse of communist regime. The main part analyses the development of institutional environment and state inferences in Czech Republic during 1990–2005. The classification of economic freedom and the structure of this paper are made according to Fraser Institute and its “Economic freedom of the world” index. Also the second index from Heritage Foundation is added. Paper however discusses rather qualitative aspects of economic freedom than the development of index alone.
