Abstract
Bivalve molluscs (especially pill-clams) are good bioindicators because of their bond with the substrate, they are sensitive to changes in flow and oxygen regimes, harmful substance cumulation in sediments as well as stream regulations (elimination of suitable habitats). Currently, fourteen species assigned to the genus Pisidium are known from the Czech Republic. Four species are restricted to running water habitats, three species inhabit only stagnant waters, and remaining seven species occur in both running and stagnant water habitats. Habitat requirements of individual species are different, thus communities of running-water pill-clams (altogether nine spp.) closely match with longitudial zones after Illies & Botosaneanu.
Abstract (in Czech)
Mlži jsou obecně dobrými bioindikátory stavu jejich stanovišť. Současných 14 druhů rodu Pisidium zjištěných na území České republiky je v příspěvku hodnoceno z pohledu jejich bioindikačního potenciálu.
