Geografický informační systému a data DPZ byla využita pro vyhodnocení podmínek k zalesnění v modelovém území katastrů obcí Strážný a Silnice na Šumavě. Terénní průzkum probíhal podle ČB ortofotomapy. Mapa integrovaných přírodních podmínek a digitální model terénu (DMT) byly použity jako zdrojová data pro vyhodnocení přírodních předpokladů zalesnění. Pomocí prostorová analýzy byla nalezena stanoviště vhodná k zalesnění stanovena potenciální vegetaci těchto lokalit.

A geographic information system (GIS) and remote sensing (RS) data were applied to assess opportunities for reforestation it the border area Strážný and Silnice, Šumava Mountains. B&W orthophotomap supported the land use mapping and field survey. Analytic maps of nature features and digital terrain model (DTM) were used to evaluate nature parameters from the reforestation viewpoint. The aim of the spatial analysis was to determinate suitable abandoned areas for forestation and to propose the potential canopy composition.
