Abstract

Summa recreatorum je anonymní kompilace, která byla napsána pro dvůr Karla IV. a měla sloužit zábavě středověkých intelektuálů na hostinách. Příspěvek je věnován otázkám o rybách a vejcích. Většina z nich byla převzata z komentáře Alberta Velikého k Aristotelovu spisu De animalibus, aniž by zde byl Albert Veliký jako pramen uveden. Tyto otázky byly nepochybně opsány z nedochované předlohy, kterou používal nejen autor Summy recreatorum, ale i autor jiného středověkého spisu s podobným zaměřením – Mensa philosophica. V příspěvku se zkoumá zacházení autora Summy s jeho předlohou, míra přizpůsobování a upravování textu s ohledem na předpokládané publikum.

Abstract (in English)

The Summa recreatorum is an anonymous compilation written for the court of Charles IV., and was aimed for the entertainment of medieval intellectuals at feasts. The paper deals in detail with questions on fish and eggs. Most of these questions were taken over from Albert the Great's commentary on Aristotle's treatise De animalibus, suppressing, however, its original source. The questions were undoubtedly copied from yet another, by now lost, copy that was exploited not only by the author of the Summa recreatorum, but also by an author of another medieval treatise dealing with the same topic – the so called Mensa philosophica. The paper examines the way the author of the Summa treated his original source, and the extent to which the text was adapted and arranged with regard to the target audience.
